Benedict XVI: "In these days in which we remember the Shoah, I return to the memory of the images seen at Auschwitz, one of the concentration camps where millions of Jews were massacred, innocent victims of a radical and religious, blind hatred. While I renew with sentiment the expression of my full and unquestionable solidarity with our chosen Brothers of the First Covenant, I hope that the memory of the Shoah causes humanity to reflect on the unpredictable power of evil when it conquers the heart of man.
